I adore New York at any time of year, but most of all I love the atmosphere of the city at the end of November and December. Decorated shop windows, Christmas markets with all sorts of useless things, music in department stores, shopping for gifts at Black Friday, ice rink in Central Park. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!…”
Thanksgiving Day is one of my favorite holidays, and I am like a child waiting all year for this holiday 🙂 Cause in NYC, Thanksgiving is a special one. This year, Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 27, 2014. On the eve of this perfect holiday I want to share with you the lost interesting things that will happen this year.
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
In 2014 the parade will be held in the 88 th time. Parade participants will depart from 77th Street to the department store Macy’s. The parade is famous for the huge balloons cartoon and movies characters. There are three best spots on the route for watching the parade: the first leg along Central Park West, Time Warner Center and along Sixth Avenue between Central Park South and 38th Street.
Holiday markets in NYC
Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park, Astoria Market Holiday Markets, Artists & Fleas at Chelsea Market, Columbus Circle Holiday Market, and others markets, where you can buy the traditional christmas gifts for all your nearest and dearest.
Black Friday
This is the biggest sale of the year. Black Friday – Friday after Thanksgiving. Some stores opened at midnight, some 5-6AM, but when they did not open, near the entrance you will see a huge crowd who want to make a purchase with the huge discount.
Thanksgiving Family Table
Of course you can have a luxury dinner at the one of the best restaurants in NYC, but as for me, Its a family holiday, when all the relatives and friends will gathered together and will have the delicious dishes.
Happy Thanksgiving Day 🙂 Enjoy this time, and share your emotions with me!
