At first glance, the chair looks deceptively normal; even simple. In reality, however, the chair is more complex and sophisticated than meets the eye, courtesy of the intricate seat detail and the erudite metallic finish, and of course standing on three legs.

Inspired by the Surrealist movement, Costa created a piece that he believed would “explore the fragility of humanity by revealing the beauty in imperfection”.

The chair would be a fun and quirky touch to your living room, but it isn’t all play. The chair is fully functional, and for those worried of falling off the three-legged masterpiece, the Emporium also comes in a complete version with four legs.
